Tricolor Dhokla: A Perfect Treat for Independence Day

Celebrate India’s Independence Day with Tricolor Dhokla, a vibrant and healthy dish that symbolizes the colors of our nation. Made from rice and lentil batter, these fluffy and colorful layers are not only visually appealing but also delicious and nutritious. 

Ingredients:


 Green Layer:

  • 1/2 cup spinach puree
  • 1/2 cup rice flour
  • 1 tbsp green chutney
  • Salt, to taste

White Layer:

  • 1/2 cup rice flour
  • 1/4 cup curd
  • 1/2 tsp ginger paste
  • Salt, to taste

Orange Layer:

  • 1/2 cup carrot puree
  • 1/2 cup rice flour
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • Salt, to taste

Recipe:

  1. Prepare three separate batters using the ingredients listed for each color.
  2. Grease a steaming tray and pour the green layer first. Steam for 5 minutes.
  3. Add the white layer and steam again for 5 minutes.
  4. Finally, pour the orange layer and steam for 8-10 minutes.
  5. Let it cool and cut into pieces. Garnish with mustard seeds and curry leaves.
