The word dahl/dal (Pulse/Legume) itself seems to refer to almost any kind of pulse, many of which we have different names for, such as red lentils, puy lentils, chickpeas, split peas, moong beans, etc. The generic name for all those in English is "pulses" |CHANA DAL also known as Baby Chickpeas or Yellow Split peas look and taste is similar to kernels of sweet corn. Delicious in a soup, roasted as a snack, or a side dish as part of a larger meal.
